Funding and administration
Funding
Preliminary funding was provided by Starbucks as a result of being an award winning project of the RSA's Coffee House Challenge.
Corporate or other contributions will be sought for developing and operating the scheme.
Where possible Street-Cred will work in partnership witih other organisations in the voluntary sector, further and higher education and government bodies to build on other approaches and avoid duplication with other initiatives.
Administration
The aim of Street-Cred will be to obtain charitable status.
Steering Group
An initial steering group was formed comprising representatives from The Institute for Volunteering Research, Department of Education and Skills, ipledge, Universities UK, Lifelong Learning Foundation, 'do-it', Start Here, NCVO, British Chambers of Commerce, Uniaid, CSV, Learning & Skills Council, Education Action International, Russell Commission, Home Office Youth Advisory Board and Operation Raleigh.
Youth Action Group
An initial focus group was formed comprising individuals from Sony, PSP Project, Social Spider, Kikass, CSV, unlimited, Prince's Trust, UK Youth Parliament. All individuals were acting in a personal capacity.
Staffing
Street Cred is seeking a secondee or other from a National Awards Scheme or Industry or the Public Sector with experience of skills accreditation.
Board members and Non Executive Directors will also be sought, with strong financial management credentials, when further funding is secured.
